December 01, 2003December 1, 2003Team Rides Well at Chainbiter UCI Cyclocross, Farmington, CT, November 30 A cool dry day greeted racers and fans at Connecticut’s biggest cyclocross event of the season. With UCI points up for grabs, a stellar field hoped to dethrone US Pro Road Champ Mark McCormack (Saturn). But McCormack seemed unbeatable from the first lap, when he jumped away trailed by a chase group including Fiordifrutta/Wheelwork’s Johs Huseby. Huseby was soon joined by teammates Rob Hult and Jon Hamblen, until mechanical difficulties forced Hult’s retirement from the race. Hamblen and Huseby went on to narrowly miss the UCI points spots by finishing sixth and seventh, equaling the team’s top finish at a UCI cyclocross race this season. Chris Peck finished 14th which was good enough to take the title of Connecticut State Champion. Below are some photos from last week’s sweep of the Palmer Cyclocross: Rob Hult Comments
