June 06, 2006June 6, 2006 - Win for CodyCody Wins Hartford Criterium, May 28th Fiordifrutta sent out its largest squad of the year to contest the Hartford Criterium on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Twelve riders, including Claudio Mucci of title sponsor Fiordifrutta, battled a large New England field to lead out Mike Cody for the win. Team manager Curt Davis even made a guest appearance in the race and covered many attacks. The team was active throughout the place to try to force a split in the field, but it came down to a solid five lap lead out orchestrated by Chris Rozdilsky. Team Nerac.com tried to spoil the lead out by sending riders off the front, and Ted King (Priority Health) jumped early for the line, but Cody came around for the win!
The day before the Hartford event, a smaller squad raced in Baltimore’s NRC criterium. Buck Miller and Mike Cody made the first big split of the day, with Cody hanging onto a smaller group that developed later in the race. He went on to finish sixth and you can read a full report that mentions Fiordifrutta here. |
